Our veterans serve our country selflessly, often in the face of great sacrifice and suffering. We seek to honor that service. Please join us at 7:30 PM, November 9th for an engaging evening of story-telling and music at The Michigan Theater. This event is free.
Fisher Houses provide free lodging for the families of veterans who qualify when they are receiving treatment.
Michigan has zero Fisher Houses. Other states have five (5) or more. They are a necessary part of our support network for our veterans. Visit the Fisher House Foundation web site for more information.
Michigan residents have been on the front line since the War of 1812. No state has done more to serve our country and ensure our national security than the men and women of Michigan.
These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve. Fisher Houses have up to twenty-one suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room and an inviting living room. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is never a lodging fee. Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $320 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
Be ready for an engaging night of riveting stories, told by some of our very own Michigan Veterans.
Interspersed in between our story-tellers, the following musicians will be performing.
The Concordia University Choir is a select ensemble of about fifty students from across the university. The choir performs a wide variety of sacred choral literature.
Katherine has been a guest soloist many times with the Ann Arbor Symphony. Her Spinto Soprano voice has both a strong high range and a warm, full bodied lower range.
Based in Ann Arbor, MI, Telluric Ensemble emerges as one of the few self-conducted chamber orchestras in the state of Michigan. It was founded in 2016 by violinist Rita Wang.
There are many stories to tell of service, sacrifice and suffering. We hope to share a few very entertaining ones over a memorable evening.
